A Season of Excellence at the South Dakota Hall of Fame
We are about to kick off a season of excellence at the South Dakota Hall of Fame. May brings the announcement of the Class of 2024 Inductees, and the following months include a lineup of exciting events that culminate with officially inducting our new class into the South Dakota Hall of Fame during our annual Honors Ceremony. The South Dakota Hall of Fame champions excellence all year long across the state, but the summer months hold a special place in our hearts as we come together to celebrate excellence in a myriad of ways. This year we are also proud to be celebrating our 50th Anniversary! For 50 years, the South Dakota Hall of Fame has highlighted the stories of amazing people who make South Dakota an amazing place to be. As we look back at how amazing the last 50 years have been, we look forward to all the future holds for excellence in South Dakota.
2024 Acts of Excellence Ceremony
We begin celebrating this season of excellence in person on June 1, by honoring our 2024 Acts of Excellence recipients at an awards ceremony held at the South Dakota Hall of Fame’s Visitor & Education Center. We are proud to honor everyday acts of excellence exhibited by amazing organizations and individuals across the state. Stay tuned for more information on this special event. 2024 605 Day Art Show Open House
We will be uplifting excellence through art on June 5 at our annual Arts Show, with an open house held on South Dakota’s 605 Day. This special event features works of art from artists across the state who come together to celebrate what it means to champion a culture of excellence in South Dakota. Their art will be on display for the full month of June. Last year, we had the honor of hosting guest speaker Lawrence Diggs at our open house, thanks to the South Dakota Humanities Council for making this speaker opportunity possible. 2024 Legends and Learning Educational Class
We are passionate about inspiring excellence in future generations. We are proud to partner with South Dakota State University and Black Hills State University to host two special leadership courses this July to support teachers in utilizing our Legends and Learning program designed to inspire leadership qualities in the youth of South Dakota. These special courses will occur July 9, 10, and 11 in Rapid City and July 23, 24 and 25 in Chamberlain. Stay tuned for more information on these leadership courses. 2024 Honors Ceremony
Every September, we gather to celebrate our newest class of Inductees. The Class of 2024 Honors Ceremony will take place September 13 and 14, 2024, in Chamberlain/Oacoma. This yearly event serves as a cornerstone for our organization to honor those who exemplify excellence through their life’s work. The Honors Ceremony weekend also includes a special event–our yearly anniversary reunion where we continue to celebrate past inductees. The Anniversary Reunion brings past inductees together with the newest class of inductees for a time of celebration and fellowship. It is truly a memorable event filled with the spirit of excellence.
